Branding for AI Companies

A brand that stays credible from the demo video through the API documentation to the model transparency card, without disappearing into the industry's hype vocabulary. For AI companies across Germany.

An AI company rarely sells a model. It sells the promise that an answer gets faster, a prediction more accurate, a process lighter, with a tool that, at its core, outputs a probability. For a demo to become a licence or an API contract, the brand has to do the same thing at every touchpoint, be clear about what the model can do and what it cannot. From the demo video on the home page through the API documentation to the model transparency card that ends up in an AI Act annex.

Where AI branding actually wins

Buyers of AI products are well trained today. They have seen demos that did not hold in production, they have read whitepapers that bent the numbers. A brand that opens with buzzwords loses exactly these buyers. One that is too cautious loses them too. We work in the corridor between, on brand work that takes models seriously and takes readers seriously. It starts with language and ends at the question of what a data sheet looks like, where training data and limitations stand in the open.

In a market where every second press release starts with "AI-powered", distinctiveness is a question of honesty. So we do not start brands from an AI render, we start from brand positioning and the question of what needs to be the same in the demo video, the API documentation, the model card and the pricing page. We set this frame in a brand workshop before any logo or demo video.

What we actually deliver

A typical AI branding project covers brand strategy, the logo and a visual identity that works on the marketing site and inside a model card, a dedicated icon language for model types, confidence values and safety states, a layout system for API documentation, data sheets, evaluations and model transparency cards, a concept for a demo video that does not look like an effect but like evidence, and a marketing site including landing pages for individual application areas. For companies with research or public-interest ambitions we add layouts for reports and trust documents that stay readable in an AI Act context or in an academic setting.

We like to work with teams who take their model seriously and do not sell a promise the machine cannot keep. When the product is clear, the brand becomes clear. When the product still sells itself as magic, we talk positioning first and design after.

  1. 01

    Clarity before magic

AI no longer sells with glow effects and gradient brain logos. We build brands that show what the model actually does, where it lands, where it does not, and who it is built for, without killing the wonder.

  2. 02

Model transparency as a visible promise

Model cards, data sheets, evaluations. These documents are not just compliance, they are the strongest trust tool an AI company has. We treat them as serious brand surfaces, not whitepaper attachments.

  3. 03

API docs as a marketing surface

Developers decide in the docs, not in the sales call. We build API documentation as a central brand surface, with readable code samples, clean error structures and a tone that respects the reader.

  4. 04

A demo video that shows the trick

A good demo video shows what the model can do in thirty seconds, not what it could do in theory. We design demos so they produce trust, not marketing scepticism.

Frequently asked

What does an AI branding cost?
A complete branding with logo, visual identity, marketing site, a model transparency card and a layout system for API documentation and data sheets typically lands between €8,000 and €28,000. We clarify the scope in a first conversation, depending on product maturity, the number of models and whether the focus is research or product.
How long does an AI branding project take?
A full brand build usually takes 8 to 12 weeks. If you only need a new marketing site and a set of model cards and data sheets, 5 to 7 weeks is realistic. For larger documentation hubs we plan the handover together with the development team.
Do you also design model cards and data sheets?
Yes. We build a layout system for transparency documents that is compatible with common templates (Model Card framework, Data Sheets for Datasets, AI Act annexes) and at the same time looks like your brand, not like a Word export.
Do you handle the ethical framing as well?
We are not an AI ethics advisory, but we design content so limitations, training data notes and risk descriptions stay visible instead of disappearing into the footer. You write the ethical content, we build the form around it.
Do you work across Germany?
Yes. AI companies from every region of Germany are a normal part of the project landscape, from Munich through Karlsruhe to Hamburg and Heidelberg. Briefings, workshops, reviews and handovers run entirely remote via Figma, Loom and video calls.
